Spirit of the River Design
The game is set within the lush green Aztec jungle, complete with waterfalls, mountains and lush green trees. To the left of the reels is an Aztec priestess with a large blue headdress, with a floating orb in front of her. To the right is a tower of rocks with 4 carved animal symbols.
There are 7 low to medium value symbols, all with a different Aztec design and 3 premium character symbols. These are a female priestess, a chief and a warrior. You’ll also find a scatter and a wild symbol too.
Overall, the graphics are good with a bright, fresh feel to the design.
Gameplay and Features
The scatters are a key element in this slot. When one lands, the stone tower has a segment filled in and you then need to try and fill the tower with segments over your next 20 spins. If you don’t land more scatters to complete the tower, the stone tower empties and you start from scratch. But if you do fill the tower, you’ll win 8 free spins and each free spin has a modifier applied.
The Frog gives you mystery symbols which change to the same matching pay symbol.
The Dolphin adds random wilds to the reels.
The Octopus give you a multiplier between 2x and 10x
The Turtle expands the reels up to 8 wide for the remainder of the free spins.

Verdict
Spirit of the River isn’t the most exciting slot we’ve seen, and if anything, the tranquil, slower-paced gameplay may put some off. However, if you want to sit back and enjoy your time playing, the relaxed pace will appeal to you.
