Pyramid Valley: Power Zones Design
Playtech are renound for their exquisite design but in Pyramid Valley, it seems to fall a little flat. It still looks great, just a little ‘ordinary’. There is a strong golden sunlight, making everything appear gold in the background, with hints of pyramids and palm trees.
The gold-framed reels have a purple background and the bold, colourful symbols stand out nicely.
10 to A Royals in various colours are the lower value symbols and various Egyptian hieroglyphs are the higher values. The scarab beetle and Eye of Horus are the most valuable.
Gameplay and Features
Gameplay in this slot is a little different to usual. At any time, any symbol except the wild and scatter, can be highlighted with flames, triggering the Power Zones feature. A scarab beetle is added and expands on the next spin and moves to the next reel to increase your chances of winning. This can happen up to 6 times. If during this feature, you land a highlighted symbol within the power zone, all the symbols in the zone transform into the same symbol.
At any point during the game, a scarab symbol can split to create 1 or 2 more symbols and have their own trials to increase your winnings.
Landing at least 3 scatters activates the free spins round. 3 scatters give you 10 free spins and this increases up to 6 scatters which give you 30 free spins. These can also be retriggered by landing another 2 scatters.
When you’ve played all your free spins, you will have one last ‘mega spin’. Any power zones turn into the same symbol to increase your payout.
Verdict
The design and theme may look like a hundred other slots, but the gameplay does make this more interesting. Especially the scarab beetle and various power zones which can be created. The top prize is also pretty decent too.
