Curse of Anubis has a traditional Egyptian design with the pyramids and palm trees in the background, under the blazing desert sun. The graphics are good, with a soft focus feel to them and the reels are with within two stone pillars.

10 to A royals make up the lower paying symbols, with various Egyptian hieroglyphs making up the higher paying symbols. The scarab beetle has the highest value, paying 3x your stake for 5 in a combination, and there are also wild and scatter symbols which are central to the gameplay.

Gameplay and Design

Anubis is the wild and if it lands on the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th reel, it expands to fill the entire reel and turn it wild in the process. This wild reel then has a multiplier attached, worth from 1x your stake up to 25x your stake.

You can reach a maximum of 3750x your stake by landing multipl wilds at the same time that have the 25x multiplier.

In order to activate the free spins round, you need at least 3 scatters to land on the 3 central reels. During the free spins, any wilds that land don’t expand, instead they’re highlighted and remain on the reel. If another wild lands, that also remains in place but comes with a multiplier worth 2x to 10x. By the end of the free spins, your final payout is calculated with the wild and multipliers applied.

Verdict

This is another solid Egyptian themed slot. It’s a straightforward design with solid gameplay but really doesn’t offer anything innovative or new. The RTP is slightly above average and the wilds with multipliers can deliver some nice wins.
