Knight Rider is a branded slot due for release in 2022 by software developer NetEnt in collaboration with Universal City Studios. Inspired by the hit TV series Knight Rider featuring David Hasselhoff and his trusted sidekick K.I.T.T the talking car, take a step back to the 80s for a touch of nostalgia.

About Knight Rider

The action takes place across 5 reels with 25 active paylines. It’s highly volatile with an RTP of 96.07% and a top prize of 7,000x the bet per spin.

Knight Rider is based on the official TV show from the 80s. Michael Knight and K.I.T.T spent their time chasing bad guys through the streets of Los Angeles. The car was ahead of its time, not only did it talk it fired weapons and travelled at lightning speed.

Once you load the game the soundtrack from the TV show powers up and memories of the hit series come flooding back. The backdrop is a desert and symbols include low-value royals along with Michael’s watch, K.I.T.T steering wheel, Knight Rider truck, K.I.T.T voice display, and Michael Knight. He is the most lucrative awarding 4x for 5 on a payline.

Gameplay

K.I.T.T is the wild, he can appear anywhere on the reels during the base game and the free spins, when he does, he’s a walking multiplier wild. Once on the reels, the wilds remain and move to the next reel on the right if involved in a win. The wilds come with a multiplier matching the reel, for example, if it lands on the 3rd reel it delivers a 3x multiplier. When it moves to the 4th reel it now has a 4x multiplier.

If you land multiple wilds, their values multiply, one on each reel can see the value reach 120x.

Randomly during the base game 3 or 4 walking wilds are added to the reels, including the multiplier values, this is known as the Turbo Boost feature.

To trigger 10 free spins, you’ll need a scatter on reels 2, 3, and 4 on a single spin. You now enter a high-speed car chase. Each Knight Rider symbol landing during the free spins is collected in a meter. Once 3 are collected you move up a level. Each level comes with 2 extra spins and 1+ laser wild. Before each free spin commences a random number of laser wilds are added to the reels. These act the same way as the walking wilds. The 4th level is the highest, 3 laser wilds are added on each free spin.

Verdict

Like one of NetEnt’s earlier releases Drive: Multiplier Mayhem, Knight Rider includes the walking wild multipliers and will appeal to anyone who was an avid Knight Rider fan back in the 80s. The fact the wilds multiply with each other there’s a good chance of bagging decent prizes.
