It seems like NetEnt are rarely out of the news these days, and it’s normally thanks to the announcement of another exciting slot game.
As regularly as this occurrence has become, sometimes we are still blown away by an announcement, and that was definitely the case when we heard that NetEnt was bringing its first slot based on a Netflix original series later in 2018 in the shape of Narcos.
What we know
Obviously, as this announcement is recent, we don’t know what to expect from the slot at this point, but we can safely assume it will, as the series is, be based around the life and times of infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.
The promotional shot from NetEnt includes the words ‘The hunt is on” so it is likely that the story of the slot will be based around the DEA Agents Murphy and Peña, and their hunt for Escobar.
Reactions
Speaking of the deal, Tim Stephen, Head of Legal and Business Affairs at Narcos’ owner Gaumont, said:
“NetEnt is a world leading provider of premier online gaming solutions, and we trust them to develop and create a gaming property that will thrill the millions of Narcos fans around the world.”
Henrik Fagerlund, Chief Product Officer at NetEnt, added:
“We’re continuing to push boundaries with our branded games and Narcos is certainly one of our biggest deals to date. The series became an overnight sensation with a huge fan base all over the world, and it gives us yet another demographic who can have fun playing our games.”
With a Vikings slot also on the horizon from NetEnt, it’s clear that now they’ve shown what they can do with movies and classic themes, the Swedish software developer is now turning its attention to the world’s most bingeworthy programmes.
