Golden Gorgon Design
The 5×3 reels are set within stone pillars with gold snakes creeping up either side and the snake-haired Medusa in the centre at the top of the reels. The background consists of a dark purple stone carved with snakes and patterns and overall, the graphics are clear and modern, with little to criticize in terms of design.
The symbols in play are 4 Greek letters, a dagger, a shield and a warrior who is the most valuable. There is no wild or scatter symbol as gameplay relies mainly on the multipliers.
Gameplay and Features
There are two main features in Golden Gorgon: The Golden Gaze feature and the Multipliers feature.
If you match 3, 4 or 5 symbols on a payline, Medusa at the top of the reels, will turn her gaze to the winning combination, her eyes will glow gold and the winning symbols lock into place. A respin then takes place in the hope that more winning symbols land which then in turn, lock into place with another respin taking place. This continues until there are no more wins.
If you fill a column with winning symbols, you’ll trigger the multiplier feature. You’re awarded with a multiplier based on the number of columns filled, meaning you could receive up to a 5x multiplier.
Verdict
Although there’s little to criticize with this slot, there’s not a lot to get excited about either. Gameplay is simple but effective, the design is nice and it’s a solid title. Just rather ordinary.
