Get ready for some swash-buckling fun, as Microgaming have teamed up with Triple Edge Studios to bring you Adventures of Doubloon Island. This is a medium variance 5 x 3 slot, due for release towards the end of February 2021. You’ll be able to play from 10p to £75 a spin and features include free spins, hold and win, bonus symbols, scatters, wilds and a bonus game.

Adventures of Doubloon Island Design

This is a lovely looking slot set on a sunny tropical island with the clear blue sea, lush greenery and cliff sides in the background. There are palm trees and tropical plants and flowers each side of the reels. The reels are set on an old parchment paper and overall the graphics are bright, crisp and visually appealing.

The lower value symbols are the 4 card suits and the higher value symbols are a parrot, two swords and two adventurers. Five of these higher value symbols will pay out from 10x to 20x your stake, and the female adventurer is the wild, paying 50x your stake for 5.

Gameplay and Features

There are several features in this slot. The win booster increases your stake by 1.5x and boosts the potential winnings in the HyperHold feature. Any cash winnings increase by 3x and the jackpot amounts are boosted between 2x to 2.5x.

To trigger the HyperHold feature, you need at least 6 HyperHold symbols. These then lock in place and you receive 3 spins. This continues until you run out of spins or all positions are filled. The symbols then reveal your winnings.

There are also four jackpots to be won; the mini pays 25x, minor pays 100x, major pays 500x and the mega pays 2000x your stake. Bonus symbols can also reveal these jackpot prizes.

Free spins are activated by landing at least 3 scatters, giving you from 10 to 20 free spins. Low value symbols vanish so only higher value symbols can land.

Verdict

This is a really great slot overall. Visually it looks great and there’s plenty of action with the free spins and the HyperHold features. It’s similar to Assassin Moon, so if you’ve enjoyed that, you’ll enjoy Adventures of Doubloon Island
