Winomania casino review
In the world of online casino sites, sometimes doing something different is more important than doing something impressive, and, at first glance, that appears to be exactly what Winomania has done.
A new site, having launched in May (2018), Winomania doesn‘t have the most creative name, and finds itself entering one of the most competitive industries in the world at arguably its most competitive time.
The iGaming world has been growing at an alarming rate for years and doesn’t look set to stop doing so any time soon, which means that even the most respected and established online casinos have to work hard to get ahead of the pack and appeal to the huge number of prospective players that there are in the market.
The result of this, is that new sites like Winomania enter the market with more chance of failure than success, and the need for something special to set them apart from the plethora of competitors that exist.
There are many ways that online casinos have found success after joining the market, but they are normally associated with the offering of something fresh and new, which is certainly what Winomania is trying to do.
However, trying is one thing, but is this site capable of making the necessary impact to carve out a space for itself in this busy industry?
Design and theme
The design of Winomania looks different to most online casinos, but not necessarily in a positive way.
The blue and yellow bright colour scheme brings forth the feel of an old beachside arcade which, despite the popularity of all things retro at the moment, does not exactly give the sense of an exciting new casino with a lot to offer to players.
That being said, the design does introduce the USP (or at least what one can safely assume is deemed by the site’s creators to be the USP) of Winomania, which is that the attention here isn’t on slots, like at most sites, or even table and card games like many others, but on instant win games such as scratchcards.
Tis becomes apparent as soon as you scroll down the page to the thumbnails that allow instant access to popular games, the first title of which is a scratchcard game (Scratch King, at the time of writing) and many others in the list also fall into this category.
This is an interesting approach from Winomania and certainly makes the site feel different, but a better put together design with either a more modern feel, or a more attractive retro approach would certainly help here.
When it comes to the games on offer from online casinos, the aim is normally to assemble the longest possible list of software developers to ensure thousands of available games that will tempt in new players and maintain existing ones.
In that regard, Winomania does not do particularly well, but, at the same time, it doesn’t feel like that was the intention here.
Instead, Winomania seems to have tried to put together a small, but unique mix of games that one would struggle to find at other sites.
The titles, which come from Anakatech, Leander Games, Microgaming, and NetoPlay, have a fair few popular games within their number (predominantly from the middle two developers on that list) but it also brings a host of instant win and slot games that are unlikely to be found elsewhere.
The focus on instant win games here immediately sets Winomania apart, and will nigh on guarantee a decent amount of traffic from fans of that game type, but a few more titles to appeal to the wider casino audience would not go amiss.
