ELK Studios return with a high variance, tribal themed slot, packed full of features and an impressive top prize worth 10000x your stake. Zulu Gold features the cascading wins mechanic, wilds, spreading wilds, stacked symbols, mega symbols, changing reels, multiplies and free spins. It has an RTP of 95% with bets starting from 20p and rising to £100 per spin and is available to play on all devices.
Zulu Gold Design
We join the trepid explorer Kane, in this really nicely designed game. There is plenty of tribal imagery and highly detailed graphics, along with a tribal soundtrack accompanying gameplay.
The 6×4 reels feature hieroglyphs as the lower value symbols along with an elephant, a wildebeest, a rhino and Kane who is the most valuable. In addition, there is a wild symbol and colossal symbols which thud down onto the reels when they drop.
Gameplay and Features
Every time you win, the winning symbols vanish from the reels and new ones cascade down to fill the spaces and if you’re lucky, you’ll form another win. Each time this happens, an additional reel is added which increases your potential paylines. If you unlock up to 8 additional rows, this gives you 262,144 ways to win.
At any point, symbols can land stacked which boosts your ways to win and also adds an extra symbol. Colossal 4×4 symbols can also land and are the equivalent of 16 symbols, increasing your paylines.
The Charged Wilds feature is when a charged wild lands and locks in place with up to 3 lives. If it forms a win, then a life is used up until all lives have been used and it drops off the reels.
You can also land wild walkers which move along the reels in different positions, leaving wilds behind and increasing your chances of winning.
Landing at least 3 bonus symbols activates the multiplier free drops feature giving you up to 25 free spins. These have an increasing multiplier and if you land several multipliers symbols, their values are combined and applied to any winnings.
Verdict
There is a great selection of features to keep the action going, especially the wild walkers. Free spins can lead to some decent wins and overall, it packs a punch.
