Wild Lava is an explosion of colour. Right off the bat it looks like a fun slot to play. The reels are set against a Polynesian island background, with an exploding volcano, lush green trees and clear blue sky. The graphics are excellent, really crisp and clear. The soundtrack is pretty dramatic, but fits the theme perfectly.

Symbols include the J to A royals as the lower values and the higher values are a drum, decorative stone, a shell and a canoe. The canoe is worth the most, paying out 0.5x, 1x or 2x your wager for a win.

The W symbol acts as the wild and can replace any other symbol on the grid apart from the scatter symbols. 3, 4 or 5 in a combo will pay out 0.5x, 1x or 2x your wager.

Gameplay and Features

Wild Lava is divided into 2 and the wilds are collected in a meter at the side of the main grid. Then, during the free spins and respins, they erupt and explode on the reels.

The volcano isn’t just for decoration either, it can erupt at any time to trigger the wild respins feature. The wilds are added to the reels and scatters are collected at the side. Once all the symbols are in position, your win is calculated.

When you land at least 3 scatters, this triggers the Lava Free Games feature where your scatters will turn into wilds and get 5 free spins. You can also re-trigger this feature.

Verdict

This slot not only looks great, but is action packed and full of nice features. It’s not complicated to play and the wilds can really increase the pay out. The main disadvantage is the low maximum win which is just x403 your wager.
