Visually, this game packs a punch. The graphics are truly excellent, and it creates a very dramatic, dark atmosphere. The background has a dark, stormy sky with mountains in the distance. The reels seem to be carved into a huge stone rock in the sky with carved symbols within the reels. There is also a dramatic orchestral soundtrack to finish the theme off perfectly.
Symbols are made up of carved card suits, with animal masks, the tree of life and Thor himself. Thor pays the most, with 6 in a payline worth 3x your stake. Thor’s hammer is the wild and can replace any other standard symbol.
Gameplay and Features
An animated Thor can appear on the reels at random and when he does, a lightning bolt crashes down to deliver a modifier. The modifier can be either all the lower value symbols being removed, a random symbol chosen with other symbols turn into the same symbol, or a selection of symbols will become wild.
Thor’s Hammer feature triggers randomly too. This sees the reels nudging until they form a winning combination. It can also come with a large 2×2 wild symbol to create a win.
Free spins are awarded when you land 3, 4 or 5 free spin symbols on a spin, giving you 8, 12 or 16 free spins. During this round, every winning combo gives you an increasing multiplier and if Thor appears and the lightning hits the multiplier shield, this gives you a 20x multiplier.
Verdict
The design is brilliant and the gameplay is engaging, especially with the random modifiers and increasing multipliers. The RTP is slightly on the low side but the action definitely makes up for it.
