The Great Banker is a video slot developed by Push Gaming that was released on the 28th of January 2026. This is a sequel to Fat Banker, released by Push Gaming in 2022, but it is not part of the ‘Fat’ series of slots by this provider. However, the slot is extremely reminiscent of the Fat Banker slot and features the rather large banker chap, on the same high street as its predecessor, but it plays slightly differently this time round.

Technical

The Great Banker is, as the name suggests cantered around a bank and plays on 5 reels with 20 fixed paylines. It is compatible with desktop and mobile devices with bets ranging from 10p to £100 per spin. (The Max bet per spin is capped at £5 in the UK)

The slot is classified with medium volatility, has an RTP of 96.21% and a max win capped at 10,317x the bet per spin.

Design and Symbols

The design is crisp and clean with colourful elements throughout. Set in the same high street as the Fat Banker, all elements are similar, from the towering bank and stone buildings to the curved houses that expand outwards, depicting grandeur and wealth. The major difference is the size of the playing grid, the Fat Banker featured 6 reels and 50 paylines, this has been reduced in the Great Banker to 5 reels with 20 paylines but a Bonus Wheel and an abundance of extras have been introduced, but more on those later.

The low-value symbols are the blue, green, orange, and red card suits. 5 of a kind wins awards between 0.8x and 1x the bet.

The high-value symbols are the dog, hat, cigar, and wealthy lady. 5 matching symbols award between 4x and 10x the bet. The special symbols available are the Wilds, Jackpots, Coins, Scatters, Bankers, Multipliers and Safes.

Features

The Great Banker is feature-driven and includes Wilds, Modifiers, Jackpot Wheel, Collectors, and an Expanding grid.

Wild and Coin Symbols

The Wild symbols substitute for all pay symbols except the Coin, Scatter, and Banker symbols.

Coin symbols have values ranging from 0.1x to 90x the bet. They only pay when a Banker symbol lands on the same spin.

Jackpot & Banker Symbols

Jackpot Symbols also come with multipliers worth between 10x (Mini jackpot) and 1,000x (Mega jackpot). The Jackpot Symbols only feature on the Bonus Wheel or during the Free Spins.

The Banker symbol only appears on the 5th reel and collects Coin Symbols that feed the Bonus Wheel.

Bonus Wheel

During any base game spin, the Bonus Wheel can trigger randomly when a Coin symbol lands. Once triggered the Wheel spins and awards one of the following prizes:

Awards one of four Jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major and Mega

Awards one of the four jackpots with a 2X multiplier

3 Scatter Spins – Standard Free Spins with 3 Scatters

4 Scatter Spin – Standard Free Spins with 4 Scatters

5 Scatter Spins – Standard Free Spins with 5 Scatters

Great Banker Free Spins – Bonus Wheel Free Spins with a Collect symbol guaranteed on every spin

Fat Money Free Spins – Bonus Wheel Free Spins with Coin symbol multipliers starting at 5x

Free Spins

The Free Spins are triggered either by landing 3 or more Scatters or via the Bonus Wheel.

The Free Spins play on a 5×5 grid with only reels one, two and three unlocked. The other reels are unlocked with Coin or Jackpot symbols.

3 Scatters play on a 5×3 grid

4 Scatters play on a 5×4 grid

5 Scatters play on the 5×5 grid.

You start with 3 free spins, and each Coin or Multiplier symbol that lands resets the free spins to 3. If Coin or Jackpot symbols land on unlocked rows, they are collected and fill the locked rows meter. Each row unlocks with four collected symbols; however, the Banker, Multiplier, or Safe symbols do not contribute to the meter. As the meter fills with Jackpot and Coin symbols, the rows unlock from the bottom up, slowly expanding the grid to its ultimate 5×7 format. If symbols land on locked rows, they remain inactive until the row is fully unlocked.

Safe Symbols

Safe Symbols trigger after the Free Spins end with no wins. They award a full retrigger of your initial Free Spins. Additionally, if your Free Spins feature was the Great Banker or Fat Money free spins, all the rules carry over.

Verdict

The Great Banker is a feature-driven slot built on progression. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s a slow burner, far from it. There’s plenty of action throughout, and watching the coins stack and the rows unlock is a thrill. The brightly coloured Art Deco-style graphics are excellent and increase the depth throughout the game. The choice of medium volatility gives you the chance to bag wins regularly instead of long dry spells, and the potential to hit the high figures more often. Overall, it is a sort of sequel, but there are enough new additions to make it a unique entry in the banking genre; it’s excellent from the first spin.
