The Champions

With the world Cup edging closer and closer, there is bound to be more football based fun available across various industries, and the world of online casinos is certainly no different.

One slot game after another based on football has popped up recently, and among them is Pragmatic Play’s offering, the rather simply named The Champions.

About the slot

The Champions is a thorough slot in terms of commitment to its theme. When you start the five reel slot, which is playable from 25p to £125 a spin on all compatible desktop, mobile and tablet devices, is pick your team out of the 32 qualifiers for this year’s world cup.

A football pitch, with stands full to the brim with spectators, stands in the background, while football boots, gloves, a shirt, and more appear as symbols on the reels, as do fairly unnecessary Q, K, and A filler symbols which represent the lower values, the symbols will change colour depending on the team selected.

Gameplay

The Trophy Wild symbol won’t only substitute for most other symbols to assist with winning combinations, it is also the highest paying symbol offering 40x your stake for five on a payline.

The Momentum Progressive Game feature is the big one here, there is a target on the screen during this feature, move it around the reels, if the football lands in the target you’ll level up, and the next 10 free spins will have a higher multiplier, all the way up to a 20x multiplier if you make it up to Level 11.

Then there’s a Penalty Shots Bonus feature, which is simple enough, you take five penalties, there’s prizes for each, score all five for 100x your stake.

A fun game with immersive features The Champions is one of the best World Cup slots around.
