The design, I would describe as average and not something we expect from Pragmatic Play, its plain and falls a bit flat in my opinion. The reels are encased in a wooden structure with lanterns either side, dominating the game area, you can just see the ocean and starry sky in the background.
Symbols are green, pink, red and blue gems of various shapes, gold coins, silver coins and a treasure chest. The wild symbol is the skull and crossbones and lands on reels 2-4, it substitutes all regular symbols.
Gameplay
There is only one feature in Star Pirates Code and no free spins. However, winning combinations pay both ways starting from the outermost reels.
The wild compass symbol relates to the respins, and only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. When it does it spins and when the pointer stops, those positions are covered in wilds, these are sticky and a respin awarded. Each additional compass wild landing awards another respin. If the compass points towards an existing wild a 1x multiplier is applied, and if the multiplier wild is involved in a win it really boosts the payout.
Verdict
Star Pirates Code is not something we’d expect to see from Pragmatic Play. However, gameplay is entertaining, and pirate themed slots always prove popular with players. The lack of features is a tad disappointing and is probably more suited to the more casual player.
