Skeleton Key

If you love The Goonies film, then check out Skeleton Key, a medium to high variance slot from IGT. You can play from 10p to £300 a spin and features include free spins, scatters, wilds, mystery symbols and changing reels. It’s compatible on all devices and has an RTP set at 96%.

Skeleton Key Design

We’re deep within a treasure filled cave, full of treasure chests, gold coins and jewels. You need to use the skeleton keys to unlock parts of the grid and win prizes. The design of Skeleton Key is really impressive, with high quality graphics and rich, bold colours.

The dark blue reels have symbols that are gold-edged and really pop against the backdrop, and any symbols that are blocked, have a misty green smoke obscuring them.

Symbols include J to A royal, with colour gems, a chalice, a spell book and treasure chest. The latter is the highest value paying up to 50x your wager for 5 in a combination.

Gameplay and Features

You start the game on a 5 x 3 grid which can expand to give you 7776 pay ways. The key symbol unlocks the covered symbols at the top to fully open the reels and drop more symbols into play.

Mystery symbols can drop into place randomly and transform into other random symbols and the scatter symbol is what unlocks the free spins. The scatter in this instance, is the padlock symbol.

Land 3 scatters to receive 10 free spins, 4 will give you 20 free spins and 5 will give you 30 free spins. During this round, you’ll also have a progressive multiplier activated and more skeleton keys will boost the multiplier for more ways to win.

Verdict

This is a brilliant design and simple gameplay that is both captivating and offers some big wins along the way. The maximum payout is an impressive 83,333x your wager and there’s very little to criticise here. Definitely one to watch for!
