Sea of Riches Design
Sea of Riches has a really lovely design. The sea and blue skies are in the background with the peg-legged pirate on a wooden deck to the left, and a sandy beach with rocks and greenery to the right. There is a classic pirate themed song playing and the graphics are excellent overall.
The 6×6 reels have a wooden frame and symbols consisting of 5 lower value coins and 4 higher value coloured gems. The most valuable is the red gem which pays 150x your stake for 15 in a cluster.
There is a bottle with a map inside which activates the modifiers, and a wild which can substitute all regular symbols.
Gameplay and Features
When the bottle with the map symbol lands, they are collected in a meter to tot up and allow you to advance to various levels with different modifiers. You’ll need to collect 25 for each level. The levels include the Wild Kraken, where a huge kraken rises from the bottom of the screen and between 5 and 10 symbols are turned into wilds. Next is the Wild Storm, where a tornado sweeps across the reels and delivers from 3 to 9 wilds. Then the Wild Whale feature is where a huge whale tail splashes 5 random wilds onto the reels. Lastly, the Wild Ghost ship sees a ghost ship cross the reels and leave between 2 and 5 multiplier wilds.
Each time you land a win, the captain’s compass is charged and delivers various modifies which include a swarm of parrots taking away up to 15 symbols and replacing them, to cannons being blasted on the reels to remove rows and forcing a new cascade.
When the captain’s compass has at least 48 symbols, you’ll trigger the free spins round, delivering from 5 to 15 free spins. Lightning bolts can also strike and bring with them multipliers to increase your winnings.
Verdict
There are plenty of pirate themed slots out there, but Sea of Riches is packed full of exciting features and modifiers to keep the action coming. The top prize is decent and it’s a really enjoyable new addition.
