Set sail with another pirate themed slot, courtesy of Relax Gaming. Sails of Fortune sends you on a swashbuckling adventure with free spins, splitting symbols, scatters, wilds, mystery symbols and symbol collection. It has an RTP of 96.17% and bets start from 10p and rise to £50 per spin. The top prize is 62208x your stake. Sails of Fortune is a high variance slot and is available to play on all devices.

Sails of Fortune Design

The action takes place on the deck of a pirate ship, with ropes either side and wooden decking underneath. The cartoon style graphics are clean and crisp and there is a jaunty pirate style soundtrack to accompany the game.

The lower value symbols are the card suits and these are joined by a note in a bottle, fish skeletons, a harpoon, a female pirate and male captain. The male captain is the most valuable paying 8x your stake for 5 on a payline. The ‘?’ on a map, is the mystery bonus symbol and the key symbol is the scatter.

Gameplay and Features

When the ‘? Map’ lands, all others transform into the same symbol. They then move to the left and the reels spin again. This is the Mystery Map Re-spin feature.

Landing 3 or more scatters will activate the free spins round and the mystery maps are in play too. You’ll start with 8 free spins and the mystery maps expand to fill the reels, increasing your chances of winning.

Gold coins can land randomly on the 5^th reel and when they do, they’re collected in a meter. For every 3 coins, the mystery maps increase up to 4 stacks high and you’ll receive an extra free spin. You can land mystery maps on all 5 reels, stacked 6 high to give you 7,776 ways to win.

Verdict

There are plenty of pirate themed slots out there but the gameplay here is slightly different which makes it more appealing. The ? mystery map symbols are key to the action and the higher payouts, and all in all, it’s a great effort from Relax Gaming.
