This is an Ancient Greek theme with a difference. It’s set within a huge stone labyrinth with marble pillars and stone ruins all around. The graphics are very high definition and there is a majestic orchestral soundtrack to add to the overall atmosphere.
The reels are stone slabs, and symbols include Greek letters as the lower values, with helmets, coins, axes, laurel wreaths and 3 different characters making up the higher values. The Greek God with the beard has the highest value, paying 3x your stake for 6 in a combo.
Gameplay and Features
This is a really innovative slot and gameplay is different to most other games out there.
The Shifting Maze Avalanche Feature comes into play when the central far left position is highlighted. If that symbol makes up a winning combo, it becomes the path symbol. Any Minotaur or blocker symbols stick in place, the path symbols line up and shift over to the left, with new symbols dropping down to the 1st reel and blockers coming onto the 6th reel.
2 of these blockers are removed on every shift and your pay out is calculated. If you land another winner, this repeats. The cascading symbols occur at the end of the feature and there are also modifiers throughout.
There is also the Labyrinth free spins feature which is triggered when 3 bonus symbols land on a spin. The Minotaur Wild feature which activates when the minotaur is unlocked, and the Guidance of Athena feature which triggers randomly, adding between 1 and 4 paths. These all have multipliers or modifiers attached with them.
Verdict
The gameplay is very different and might take a little getting used to, however, this is an excellent slot with so much action occurring all the time. The free spins feature can really boost your wins and you have the chance to win up to 25000x your stake. It’s definitely one to check out.
