Marlin Masters: The Big Haul™ is a new video slot developed by Hacksaw Gaming, released on 14th August 2025.

This is a sequel to Marlin Masters, featuring big Bob the fisherman back at the helm, this time with a sharper hook and a few upgrades hidden in his bait box. The 5×4 layout has 19 paylines and is loaded with LootLines, upgraded Marlin symbols, and a bonus structure that builds momentum. Collection remains central, only now it stacks, scales, and sticks around.

Technical Features

Marlin Masters: The Big Haul™ has a 5-reel, 4-row grid with 14 fixed paylines. It’s available on desktop and mobile devices from 10p to £100 per spin.

Design & Symbols

A few spins in and you’re out at sea with Bob, picture the clear blue sky, tropical islands on the horizon, and a pair of fishing rods strapped to the side of the boat, poised for action. The reels are framed in a bamboo structure entwined by a green rope. Wins occur when three or more matching symbols land on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel.

Lower-value symbols are the traditional card values – 10, J, Q, K, and A. Five matching symbols award 2x the bet. Higher-value symbols are four colourful fish in orange, pink, green, and blue, awarding between 5x and 7.5x the bet for a five of a kind.

The Wild symbol is the anchor with the letter W and substitutes for all regular pay symbols. Five Wilds on a payline award 10x the bet. Scatter symbols are the blue crates marked “FS”, and landing three or more on a spin triggers a bonus feature.

Features Overview

There are three bonus rounds in Marlin Masters: The Big Haul™: Reel It In, Hooked On Loot, and Hooked On Paradise. The game also includes Marlin Symbols & LootLines and a Fisherman Collect mechanic.

LootLines

Marlin symbols have multipliers from 1x to 1,000x. If three or more land on a payline, they create a LootLine, which pays out the combined value of all Marlin symbols in the line.

If a Golden Marlin is part of a LootLine win, its value is added to every Marlin in that line before the total payout is calculated – effectively increasing the value of the win multiple times over.

Fisherman Symbols

The Fisherman symbol collects the values attached to all Marlin symbols currently visible on the reels. These Marlin symbols each carry a bet multiplier – values range from 1x to 1,000x – and the Fisherman gathers their combined total. If the Fisherman lands with a multiplier of its own (up to 20x), it boosts the total collected amount accordingly.

A Golden Fisherman collects the values from all Marlin symbols and all other Fisherman symbols that appear on the same spin. In addition, if there’s a Golden Marlin symbol anywhere on the grid that didn’t form part of a LootLine win, its value is added to every regular Marlin symbol on that spin – increasing the amount collected.

Don’t Be Koi

Triggered with 3 Scatter symbols, Don’t Be Koi awards 8 free spins and introduces the Big Haul Bar, a progression meter above the reels that upgrades the bonus as more Fisherman symbols land. Every 4 Fishermen collected advances the bar to the next level.

All Golden Marlin symbols have a minimum value of 3x, and regular collection mechanics are active throughout.

Progression stages in the Big Haul Bar are as follows:

Upgrade 1: +8 spins and all Fisherman symbols have a minimum multiplier of 2x

Catch Me If You Can

This round triggers with 4 Scatters, awarding 10 free spins and builds on the features in Don’t Be Koi.

All Fisherman symbols have a multiplier worth at least 2x, and Golden Marlins have a minimum value of 5x. The Big Haul Bar returns with more powerful upgrades and requires 4 Fisherman symbols to move up a level.

The upgrade progression is:
