Rarestone Gaming and Playtech have another Gem Splash slot with their March 2021 release, Kings Court: Gem Splash. This is a medium variance slot with an RTP of 96.37% and is played on a 5×3 grid.

This slot has a medieval theme but is rather basic in terms of design and graphics. In the background there is a blue skyline with the shadows and outlines of what looks like old buildings and a medieval castle.

The reels have a gold frame and darker blue background, allowing the symbols to stand out nicely. Symbols include the J to A royals which have a lower value, along with a white horse, a ring, a crown and a King. The king is the most rewarding, paying 6x your stake for 5 on a payline. The gold shield is the scatter but there is no wild here.

Gameplay and Features

Special gem drop overlays with a cash value, can appear on any of the symbols or above the reels and when they do, they drop down a row at a time, falling off at the bottom. The cash values are between 1x and 100x your stake and if a gem drop covers a gem splash symbol, the gem splash feature is triggered and you’ll win the gem drop cash prize.

The free spins round is activated when you land at least 3 scatter symbols. You’ll start with 6 free spins and also win up to 50x your stake depending on how many scatters landed. All gem drop symbols vanish and new ones land during the free spins. These can also land as super-sized 2×2, 3×3 and 4×4 symbols. If they land on the gem splash symbols, you can win up to 20x your stake.

The jackpot feature can activate at random and award between 10x and 100x your stake, or the minor, major and grand jackpots which are all progressive jackpots.

Verdict

This is a really simple design with no-fuss graphics, but the gameplay is excellent and the progressive jackpot prizes will definitely attract players.
