Guitar Quest is a video slot developed by Relax Gaming, released on 28 May 2026. Inspired by rhythm games and classic rock culture, it combines a 5×4 layout with 1,024 ways to win. It is classified as highly volatile with a default RTP of 96.10% and a max win of 10,000x the bet. The standout feature is the two bonus modes. Players have the choice between the Progressive Free Spins and the Coin Collector Bonus. It’s a different approach to the typical music-themed slots, giving Guitar Quest an identity beyond its guitars, amplifiers, and heavy rock soundtrack.

Design

Guitar Quest takes place inside a gritty rehearsal room where graffiti-covered walls, stacked speaker cabinets and well-worn equipment create the impression of an underground rock venue rather than a packed concert arena. A mounted electric guitar frames one side of the reels, while a raised fist and equaliser panel on the other reinforce the rebellious theme without dominating the layout.

Relax Gaming has resisted the temptation of overloading the design with flashing lights and pyrotechnics. Instead, the artwork captures the atmosphere of a working rehearsal space, giving the slot authenticity. Distorted guitar riffs and heavy instrumentals complete the audio set perfectly.

Symbols

While the theme embraces rock culture, the symbol set takes a different direction. The premium symbols are inspired by classic fruit machines, giving Guitar Quest a familiar look rarely seen in modern rock-inspired slots.

The low-value symbols are the J, Q, K, and A. Five matching symbols award 1x the bet.

The premium symbols include classic fruits such as plums, watermelons, cherries, bells, and lucky 7s. Five matching premium symbols award between 2.5x and 5x the bet.

The base game includes two Special Symbols: The Wild Symbol and the Scatter Symbol. Solo Mode introduces additional Special Symbols, but we’ll take a closer look at those in the next section.

Features Overview

Guitar Quest combines traditional slot mechanics with two very different bonus games. Wild Symbols, Equalizer Bonuses and the Backstage Bonus Game build towards a choice of the Solo Mode or the Coin Collector Bonus. The Ante Bet and Feature Buy options (not available to UK players) provide access to the action. Here’s how each feature works.

Before the start of a spin, between one and four Equalizer Bonuses can randomly trigger. Any combination of bonuses can appear during the base game.

Wild Jam – Adds between one and eight Wild Symbols to the reels.

Twin Riff Split – Selects between six- and ten-reel positions before the symbols land. Any symbol appearing in a selected position is duplicated.

Fire Up Multiplier – Adds a multiplier between 2x and 10x to the total win.

Symbol Upgrade removes the four lowest-paying symbols from the reels for that spin.

Backstage Bonus Game

The Backstage Bonus Game is one of the options available after landing three or more Scatter Symbols. It begins with the Electric Guitar Meter, which is upgraded by landing five Scatter Symbols during the feature.

Each completed meter level adds a persistent Equalizer Bonus and awards five extra spins. Once unlocked, the Equalizer Bonuses trigger on every spin in the same order. If all Equalizer Bonuses have already been unlocked, filling the meter again awards another five spins.

The number of triggering Scatters determines the number of Free Spins awarded and which Equalizer Bonuses are active at the start of the feature.

Three Scatters award eight spins with Wild Jam active. Four Scatters award 10 spins with Wild Jam active. Five Scatters award 10 spins with Wild Jam and Twin Riff Split active.

During the feature, landing three Scatter Symbols on the same spin awards three extra spins.

Solo Mode Bonus

Solo Mode takes Guitar Quest in a completely different direction, replacing traditional reels with a fast-paced arcade-style bonus. The number of triggering Scatters determines where the feature begins: three, four, or five Scatters start at Levels 1, 2, or 3. Progression continues through Level 10, with each level increasing the speed of the feature.

A moving Collector Bar travels across the reels, collecting coin prizes, upgrades and power-ups as it passes them.

The feature remains active while energy is available, so keeping the Energy Meter filled is key to extending the round.

Coin prizes range from 1x to 1,000x the bet. Upgrades like Guitar God increase the chance of higher-value coin prizes, while the Expander widens the Collector Bar to cover every reel.

Upgraded Spins

Upgrade Spins are available through the Supercharge menu and provide instant access to the Equalizer Bonuses. Three options are available:

1+ Equalizer Spin costs 10x the bet and guarantees one Equalizer Bonus.

2+ Equalizer Spin costs 50x the bet and guarantees at least two Equalizer Bonuses.

Full Volume costs 600x the bet, and triggers all four Equalizer Bonuses, with an RTP of 96.5%.

The available Equalizer Bonuses are Wild Jam, Twin Riff Split, Fire Up Multiplier, and Symbol Upgrade. Each follows the same rules as in the base game.

The standard Bonus Buy option is unavailable while an Upgrade Spin is active.

SuperCharge Buys (Not available to UK players)

Three SuperCharge options are available:

Bonus Reels costs 10x the bet. All regular paying symbols are removed, leaving only Bonus Symbols on the reels. RTP: 96.1%.

Buy Feature provides direct access to the Backstage or Solo Mode bonus games. Standard Bonus Buys cost 100x the bet, while Ultra Bonus Buys cost 400x. RTP 96.5%.

Enhanced Spin increases the bet by 50% and doubles the chance of triggering a bonus feature. Feature Buys are unavailable while Enhanced Spin is active. RTP: 96.1%.

Verdict

Guitar Quest is another confident release from Relax Gaming. The gritty rehearsal room and rock soundtrack give the slot plenty of attitude, while the classic fruit symbols provide an unexpected contrast.

The real standout for me is the choice between two very different bonus games, giving the feature round more variety than many music-themed slots. The Equalizer Bonuses fit naturally in the base game, while the dual bonus system gives Guitar Quest its own identity.
