Space themed, with neon symbols, tranquil backing music and stacked wilds, you’ve heard this one before right?
It is accepted now that when a slot does well, then a world of replicas will appear, and Thunderkick’s Flux is another one of these, playable from 10p to £100 a spin, Flux is attempting to do the impossible, make an impact with a concept that’s been seen many times before.
Theme and design
This five reel, 15 payline slot is undoubtedly gorgeous. As unoriginal as the design is the symbols are very pretty and the music is perfect. It is often the case with such games that the soundtrack isn’t quite chilled enough to be relaxing or exciting enough to not be boring. But Flux seems to get it perfect.
The Flux mentioned in the title is a river of crystals floating through space in an imaginary universe, radiating energy around them, apparently. All it really is, is some symbols on a background, very little effort has gone in to following through with the concept, but the design is attractive.
Gameplay
As often with slots such as this, the only really worthy part of the gameplay is the bonus round. Although to balance this, Flux has created a fairly original and exciting bonus feature.
When you trigger the bonus with three bonus symbols, you are given a choice of how you would like to play your round. You can either receive 16 free spins with win both ways activated, or you can have 12 free spins with seven extra rows on the reels, or you can try your luck on eight free spins with both of these features activated. Whichever way you choose to go, you can win big on this slot.
Not much unique, not much original, but Flux does give you the chance to win big on its bonus rounds, if that’s enough for you.
