Considering the resurgent popularity the idea is enjoying, it is surprising that retro gaming is not a theme utilised by more slot games. But at the same time, it does mean that when you stumble on one like Thunderkick’s Arcader, it’s a truly pleasant surprise.
Theme and design
The concept of Arcader is not for everybody, but if you are nostalgic for the 80s, then it is difficult not to love the different ways this slot embraces its theme.
From the old school 8-bit graphics, to the 80s synthesiser heavy theme tune, this slot understands its theme. All of this is accentuated perfectly by the robotic female voice which announces “Double Expansion”, “Nice”, and “Awesome” throughout the game. This robotic commentator also goes all out when a “Big Win” happens.
Arcader is so perfectly set in the 80s that you could legitimately believe that this is the slot that was in the back of the car in Knight Rider (if you immediately wanted to point out that the car’s name was Kitt, then this is undoubtedly the slot for you!)
Gameplay
Arcader is a five reel, 15 payline slot playable from 30p to £1,500 a spin, and is brimming with features.
