Duck Hunters Happy Hour is a video slot from Nolimit City, released on 13^th January 2026. Nolimit have kicked off the new year in style with the 2^nd instalment in their award-winning slot Duck Hunters, released in February 2025.

The crazy backyard BBQ is in full swing in the heart of the Deep South, USA, with gunslinging rednecks gathering gunpowder to blast pond-dwelling ducks into oblivion. Like its predecessor, we are treated to a plethora of features and enhancements seen in the original. The Scatter Pays remain, but the grid formation is slightly different. Technical

As I mentioned above, Duck Hunters Happy Hour has a slightly different reel configuration of 4-5-6-6-5-4. However, the space to hit Scatter Pays remains the same. The slot is available on desktop and mobile devices with bets ranging from 20p to £100 per spin (capped at £5 for UK players).

In terms of RTP, it is slightly higher than the original at 96.07%, and the volatility remains high. The max win has also increased slightly to 33,333x the bet.

Design and Symbols

Dusk Hunters Happy Hour is set in a back garden in the deep south, BBQ ready and beers on ice in buckets, while a bunch of rednecks contemplate how good life is. If you are familiar with Duck Hunters, you will be right at home here; the vibe is similar, and the guys are high on life.

Symbols include four redneck characters, cans, beers, eggs, ducks, and cocktails. Landing between 8-9 matching symbols awards between 0.1x and 0.3x, but 12 or more matching symbols awards between 1x and 5x. The slot features sheriff-badge Wilds, which substitute for regular symbols to help form winning combos.

After a winning combo is formed, a cascade triggers, removing all winning symbols. New symbols fill the empty spaces.

Duck Hunters Happy Hour is packed with an abundance of features, including Cascades, Scatter Wins, Position Multipliers, xWays, Infectious xWays, Bombs, a trio of Free Spin rounds, Boosters and Bonus Buys.

Scatter Wins

To create a win, you’ll need 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. A Cascade triggers and the winning symbols are removed and replaced with new symbols.

Each cleared grid position receives a 2x multiplier. If a position already has a multiplier, and that position is involved in a win, the multiplier is doubled as high as x8,192x.

xWays & Infectious xWays

If an xWays symbol lands, it transforms into a regular symbol and the Position Multiplier is increased by 2, 4 or 8x. When an Infectious symbol lands, it acts in the same way, but all other instances of its transformed symbol become infected, and their position multipliers expand. Moreover, if multiple xWays or Infectious xWays are present on the reels, all instances transform into the same symbol type.

Bomb

When a Bomb symbol lands, it explodes and clears all adjacent symbols. All Position Multipliers trigger and double on infected positions.

Once the Bomb explodes, it leaves either a mid-paying symbol, Wild, Infectious xWays or a Bomb. If multiple Bombs land on the grid, their revealed symbols only appear after all the Bombs have exploded (Excluding Wilds and Scatters).

Free Spins

The number of Scatters you land determines which Free Spins mode you’ll play.

Duck Hunt Spins

3 Scatters trigger the Duck Hunt Spins, awarding 7 Free Spins. During the free spins, the Position Multipliers are present. Landing a +1 Shot symbol awards an additional +1 free spin, and one of 3 upgrades is granted:

Upgraded Bomb – Acts like a regular Bomb but does not reveal a mid-paying symbol.

Upgraded xWays – xWays are transformed into Infectious xWays.

The extra +1 Shot symbol is transformed into a =2 Shot symbol.

Hawk Eye Spins

The Hawk Eye Spins act the same as the Duck Hunt Spins, but you play with 8 free spins. Two upgrades are awarded during this round.

Verdict

New instalments to an award-winning title are not something we are used to seeing from Nolimit City. Each title release is well known for controversy, political stance and satire, but a revamp is not what we expected from this studio.

However, never say never as Duck Hunters Happy Hour does come a few additional extras. Although the core mechanics remain untouched, the grid configuration has changed, and the Bombs have a little extra. They explode and remove adjacent symbols, but also leave a mid-paying symbol, Wild, Infectious xWays symbol or another Bomb behind.

The introduction of the Happy Hour booster buy sees each reel position start with an 8x multiplier, and the two middle reels filled with Bomb symbols. However, it’s one of the most expensive booster buys at 3,000x the bet, not for the faint-hearted!

NoLimit City have taken a top title and tweaked it enough to make it interesting rather than a basic reskin that would damage the reputation of such a huge powerhouse. It’s clever, and those familiar with the original will find enough to smile about, whereas new players will find themselves in a tailspin from the get-go.
