NetEnt have released so many slots at this point that it’s often difficult to know which are connected to what others.

For example, the newly released Double Stacks is not related to Neon Staxx or Butterfly Staxx, in case the spelling was not enough to make that clear.

About the slot

Double Stacks is a five reel, 10 payline slot that is playable from 10p to £200 a spin on all compatible desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.

There is a neon colour scheme here, with the reels full of old school fruit machine style symbols. Symbols on the reels include bars, bells, cherries, lemons, plums, 7s, and more, with the wild symbol stating its purpose by saying ‘wild’ on it, and the disco ball playing the part of the scatter symbol.

The name comes from the fact that symbols can appear stacked, on the reels, as well as a Double Stacks feature which we will get to later.

This is not the most creative looking slot that NetEnt have ever produced, but it still has an attractive design that gets pretty immersive after a while.

Gameplay

The four highest value symbols (bar, bell, diamond, and 7) can all appear stacked on the reels to raise the chance of winning combinations.

If you land the same symbol stacked to cover an entire reel, you will trigger the Double Stacks feature, which is the party piece of this slot. All the symbols on that reel will now count as two instead of one, giving the chance for six of a kind wins, or even more if you’re lucky.

There’s also a free spins feature that triggers with three or more scatters and gives up to 30 spins, with the wild now also appearing stacked on the reels.

This is a fun slot with a simple premise, but one that can lead to some big wins.
