Desert Treasure II is a 20 pay-line, five reel video slot and is the second in the series (Unsurprisingly, Desert Treasure was the first.)
With a 10,000 coin jackpot, and the ability to play from 20p to £100 a spin, there is a lot to like about Desert treasure II, but as it is another Egyptian themed slot game to add to the world of them that already exists, does it do enough to stand out?
Design and Theme
Playtech seem to be responsible for a higher percentage of the veritable smorgasbord of Egyptian themed slots on the market. At least this time they are producing a sequel so just following a theme.
The graphics are nice enough, and there are some nice design touches to the special features which add a dimension to the theme. However all in all, it is just the same as you’ve seen in hundreds of places before.
The Egyptian theme is done as well as anywhere else, but it doesn’t stand out. It could be impressive to the newbie, but any experienced gamer is going to find nothing new here.
Features
The Oasis Bonus feature is a classic idea where you have a selection of boxes to pick from. This feature is triggered by getting three, four, or five bonus symbols, with a matching number of pictures for prizes.
If you get a map during this feature, you are taken to the second stage. Here you have a choice of two locations, the Inner Tent or the Hidden Sanctum, both of which give you an opportunity to win big, although this is rare.
Three or more Girl symbols will trigger the Free Spins feature, where you will receive 15 free spins with a 2x multiplier.
The most that can be won out of the Free Spins feature is when it coincides with the expanding wilds feature, which is a highlight of Desert Treasure II. The Cobra symbol is the wild and becomes an expanding wild on reels two, three and four. This is available in regular play and in the Free Spins feature, in the latter it can lead to some big money wins.
All things considered, Desert Treasure II is a definite improvement on the original and gives some nice touches that should appeal to most players.
