Dark Vortex

Yggdrasil Gaming have found many ways to make an impact during their meteoric rise to being one of the most popular software developers in the entire iGaming industry.

One of the ingredients in Yggdrasil’s winning formula has been creative slot games, and this skill is apparent again in one of the developer’s most recent slots, Dark Vortex.

About the slot

With five reels, five rows, and 243 – 3,125 paylines, Dark Vortex is playable from 10p to £50 a spin on all compatible desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.

This is, even by Yggdrasil’s very high standards, an incredible looking slot. Based around darkness and vortexes (as the name very much suggests) the almost gothic imagery is executed to perfection.

There are five books and five monsters on the reels, with the Hellboy style monster being the most lucrative, although it will only pay out 6x your bet for five on a payline, but with a win both ways engine in play, there’s more chance of regular wins.

Orbs and vortexes appear throughout the game, and all effect the gameplay in some way.

Gameplay

The Vortex symbol is the one to look out for here, land two, and they will become Vortex Reels and you will receive three Vortex Spins.

Each Vortex symbol adjacent to these reels will also become a Vortex Reel and give two more spins, with the Vortex Reels containing stacked high value symbols and stacked wild symbols.

During the feature, pink orbs can appear and add a wild to the reel, while blue orbs will add another Vortex Spin to the collection.

Dark Vortex is all about the Vortex symbol and the features around them, but with the chance to pick up big wins, this exciting feature is well worthy of its position, making this a slot that deserves attention.
