Lightening Box have another June 2021 slot release and this time we’re heading to Australia on the hunt for crocodiles with Croc Chase. Croc Chase is a medium variance video slot with an RTP of 96.05% and features free spins, respins, scatters, wilds, walking symbols and multipliers. You can bet from 40p up to £100 a spin and the top prize is 2000x your stake.
Croc Chase Design
We’re deep in the Australian swamps with a male and female crocodile hunter to join you on your adventure. Behind the reels we can see blue water and lots of lush greenery and trees. To the right is the male croc hunter with his net, ready to swoop and overall, there is a fun, cartoon style quality to the game.
The 5×3 reels consist of the regular card suit 10 to A symbols, along with a frog, a platypus, a pot on a fire, a jeep and a dog. There are also 3 wilds; a regular wild girl, a wild hunter and wild crocodile.
Gameplay and Features
The wild hunter symbol can land in the base and bonus game and always lands stacked, up to 4 rows high. If it lands fully stacked, a respin occurs straight after and the symbol will move to the left until it drops from the reels.
You’ll need at least 3 scatter symbols to land to trigger the free spins round and receive 5 free spins. You’ll also receive a 2x multiplier for 3 scatters, a 25x multiplier for 4 scatters and a 500x multiplier for 5 scatters. On the reels, a 1x, 2x or 3x wild hunter is added and applied to all wins.
You can extend the feature when you land a wild crocodile on the 5th reel. The wild hunter will return to the 5th reel and your free spins reset to 5. You can also have multipliers active between 1x and 20x
Verdict
This is a great design and the medium variance allows for more regular, but lower payouts. It’s a fun game that’s very engaging and the top prize is pretty decent too.
