If you are a fan of murder mystery, then NetEnt’s latest offering Cash Noir will be right up your street. The game utilises the Avalanche mechanic and comes with transforming mystery symbols, a free spins feature and a progressive multiplier.

About

Cash Noir is a low variance video slot with RTP of 96.06%. Played across 5 reels with 1,024 ways to win, stakes start from 20p up to £200 per spin and can be played across all devices. Visually the game is quite dark with an illuminated pink and red reel set.

As I said earlier, if murder mystery is your thing you’ll love Cash Noir as you join Detective Flint as he attempts to solve the case called the Green Ace murders.

Reels are set in a darkened room with a mysterious woman sat on a windowsill to the right. Symbols on the reels include, magnifying glasses, ace cards, whiskey glasses, daggers, pistols and 4 characters, one is a woman smoking a cigarette, she is the highest paying symbol and awards 0.2, 0.6 or 0.8x your stake for 3, 4 or 5

Gameplay and Features

Cash Noir uses the Avalanche mechanic where winning combinations fall from the reels and new ones take their place. Wins are found starting at reel 1, and 3 or more matching symbols are needed.

There are 3 bonus features, these are:

Crime Zone feature – You will see a red pattern of hotspots starting with 3 on each spin, this increases to 4 then 5 and clues are triggered. Every winning symbol in the Crime Zone bring an item from the clue list.

Mystery Symbols feature – The vault symbol can appear in the Free Spins feature and the Base game where a random symbol is revealed. It will clone on all spots in the pattern if it appears inside the Crime Zone.

Free Spins feature – There is a Clue List, this shows your progress for this feature. If 3 to 6 clues are activated, the Crime Zone expands to 4 spots but if 7 or more are active, the Crime Zone expands to 5 spots.

The Free Spins is triggered when 13 clues are activated and you are given 6 free spins. When you’re in the feature there are 5 spots in the Crime Zone.

You will see a City Chase map that shows the multiplier progression and where extra spins can be won. Each time the car has reached 13 locations, another 2 free spins are given. After 7 locations, you get another 1 added to the multiplier. Once you get to the end of the map, the case is closed, and you will have reached a 10x multiplier and receive another 3 spins.

Cash Noir is quite a dark looking game but the graphics are great. The gameplay sounds complicated, but it is quite easy once you get to grips with it, try the free version first. You need to find winning symbols inside the Crime Zone and mystery symbols will appear, this in turn leads to the Free Spins feature where thanks to the increasing multiplier, you could see wins of up to 1,033x your stake.
