Basing online slots on Greek Gods is certainly nothing new, and since Playtech’s Age of Gods series has reached the heights it has, to some, the theme has been finished.
However, that hasn’t stopped upstart developer Novomatic from turning its hand to the concept with their latest release, Almighty Reels – Realm of Poseidon.
About the slot
Based on the Greek God of the sea, who has himself been the subject of many a slot game, Almighty Reels – Realm of Poseidon has five reels and 25 fixed paylines and is playable from 25p to £100 a spin on all compatible desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.
It seems like Novomatic knew they had to do a lot to stand out here, and they have gone all in on the design, which looks truly stunning.
A stunning temple stands in the centre of the mythical underwater city of Atlantis in the background, while the reels include harps, helmets, and Poseidon himself, who is the highest value symbol and pays out 4x your stake for five on a payline.
10, J, Q, K, and A playing card symbols make up the lower values, while the golden temple is the wild and will substitute for all but the scatter.
Gameplay
Symbols can appear stacked and in 3×3 blocks here for extra wins, while three of the golden coin scatter symbols will trigger the Free Games feature.
You will then be given ten free spins, with a random high value symbol, which could be Poseidon, appearing as a giant symbol that covers the entire of the middle three reels.
This is the only feature to speak of here, but if the right symbol is chosen and the reels fall in your favour, it can be a very profitable one.
A great looking slot, Almighty Reels – Realm of Poseidon could do with a couple more bonus features.
