Gossip Slots Review

Gossip Slots is no longer accepting new players

Do you love to gossip? Do you love slots? Then you’re going to love Gossip Slots. Okay, so that isn’t the slogan of Gossip Slots, but doesn’t it feel like it should be?

To be fair, as much as Gossip Slots may feel like another of those titles that puts a buzz word next to a casino related word for no reason except for hopes of getting more traffic to the site, it isn’t. The Gossip in the site’s title refers to this online casino’s attempt to offer w wide range of chat options between players who like their casino play to be a social experience.

Chat options have been popular in the bingo world for a long time, in fact, it’s one of the largest parts of the industry, but this has never really translated into the online casino world, which is strange, and clearly Gossip Slots has seen this as an opportunity to take advantage of the closest thing to a niche that the highly competitive online casino world has.

This unique approach to online casino play will definitely work to Gossip Slots’ advantage, but does the site have enough to offer in terms of content to maintain the interest of players once they’re passed this USP?

Design and theme

The colour scheme of the Gossip Slots site combines a pink/purple shade with a bright yellow, and blue ethereal outlines to everything, so if you like subtle, go somewhere else.

The logo which has two different coloured cherries whispering to each other is actually both charming and clever, the theme here may not be for me, but that’s a lovely touch.

The main image at the top of the homepage is of some classic looking slot machines, which could be effective, but in this case, just makes the whole site look a little too low budget due to the childish colour scheme.

If you like your sites to be cute and bright, then the likelihood is you’ll enjoy the look of this site, and even if you don’t, you’ll be impressed by the ease of navigation offers.

A scrolling bar on the homepage allows for one-click access to a selection of popular titles available at the site, without having to have those thumbnails taking up too much of the homepage, a mistake that many other sites have made over the years.

Games

As the name suggests, Gossip Slots is focused predominantly on slots games, although this is not the limit of the gaming options available, as there is a small smattering of table and card games thrown into the collection, although this feels more like a courtesy offering than anything else.

If you are going to aim primarily at one market, in this case, slot players, then you have to make sure you are offering enough to be competitive, and that means offering titles from a wide range of software providers.

Unfortunately, with games coming from the limited group of Arrow’s Edge and BetSoft, Gossip Slots does not even come close to offering the range of games necessary to make them viable competition to even the most average of online casino sites.

There’s some good games here, sure, Frankenslot’s Monster and Birds are just two of the excellent slot titles on offer, but when you think about the popular titles released by the likes of NetEnt and Microgaming, to name but two, there is simply too much missing for Gossip Slots to be anything but a disappointment.

This just feels like a lazy attempt and producing an online casino, and no amount of chat options are going to change that.
