Dark Hearts

Romance between dark and mythical creatures has been a huge part of culture since the great success of the Twilight franchise, and with games like Immortal Romance, the online slot world has got fully on board with the trend.

One of the newest offerings that follows suit in trying to take advantage of this popular concept is Rival’s Dark Hearts.

About the slot

A five-reel slot that offer 243 ways to win, Dark Hearts looks exactly like you expect it to, with blood coloured roses in the background, and three characters, Willow, Marcus, and Viktor (who are, obviously, embroiled in a love triangle) appearing on the reels alongside a rose, the game’s logo, a cross, a goblet, and more. The lips play the part of the wild symbol here, while the scatter symbol is a key.

The characters have a sombre, yet cartoon like feel, which is an interesting approach and looks pretty good.

This slot is as attractive as it needs to be, with the gloomy backdrop bringing the slot to life nicely. More could have been done here, but it arguably didn’t have to be considering its target audience will definitely be interested enough.

Gameplay

Three or more scatters triggers the Free Spins feature here, and you can choose between the three characters to get a different feature.

Viktor gives 30 free spins with no multiplier, Willow offers 15 spins with a 2x multiplier, and Marcus offers up 10 spins with a 3x multiplier.

Giving players the choice of three Free Spins features is a nice touch here, and adds a unique theme to the slot.

If you like horror-based slots with an edge of the dark romance to them, then Dark Hearts is an excellent addition to the already stacked list of possible slots you have to choose from.
