In terms of the visuals, they are excellent and add a sense of atmosphere as the reels spin. A dark, wild ocean sets the backdrop for the ornately trimmed reels. On the reels are equally ornate royal card suits along with a compass, a gas mask, a helicopter, and orbs. 6 of the latter are worth 30x the bet.
Gameplay
When symbols land on the reels they can have a gold coin attached. If a wild is present on the reels the gold coins are collected. Collecting gold coins delivers upgrades, the more you have the bigger the upgrade.
Upgrade 1 – 30 coins transform the wild into a 1×4 version covering the whole reel
Upgrade 2 – 60 coins adds a random multiplier
Upgrade 3 – 90 coins see the wild lock on the reels until it’s involved in a win
Once you reach the third upgrade the meter turns into the 6th reel, where only the high-paying symbols land.
The Thunder Wilds feature triggers randomly after a wild lands, but doesn’t form part of a winning combination. A random number of wilds are added to the reels and a win is guaranteed, playing up to 6 reels sees up to 9 wilds added.
Verdict
Zillard King is a superbly designed slot with a unique theme and highly creative visuals. However, the win potential is not that impressive, and with only the two bonus features, the wilds are the only symbols paying the bigger rewards.
