If you have owned a games console at any point during the last two decades or so, the chances are that, at some point, you have played a Worms game.
The immensely popular series that sees teams of heavily armed worms attempt to destroy each other using increasingly ridiculous weaponry has had a consistently huge audience in the gaming world, and it didn’t take long the Worms franchise to makes its way to the iGaming world.
Worms Reloaded is the latest instalment in the Worms slot game series, it comes from Blueprint Gaming, and it has all the fun and silliness of the computer games.
Design and theme
Worms Reloaded is an affectionate tribute to the games, with a battlefield in the background, and various popular Worms weapons playing the part of the higher value symbols. The lower values are made up of traditional card symbols acting as filler, which is a shame when you consider the amount of artwork available from the source material.
This five-reel, 20 fixed payline slot looks great though, and if you’re a Worms fan, you will likely be impressed by how well the theme has been transitioned into a different form.
Gameplay
There’s a lot of scope for features in the subject matter, and Worms Reloaded takes full advantage, with the likes of the Concrete Donkey (extra wilds), Teleport (guaranteed win), Holy Hand Grenade (extra bonus symbols) and Banana Bomb (possible extra wilds and bonus spins) all activating randomly in the base game.
Then you have the main feature, where three symbols will trigger one of four features, including Super Sheep Free Spins, which offers six spins on a 5×4 grip with random sheep wilds added, and the Jetpack Bonus, which is a pick and click game with different rounds and the possibility of big wins.
A fun game, that does the Worms franchise justice, Worms Reloaded is great entertainment.
