Viking Pays Design
Viking Pays follows Inspired Gaming’s other models such as Egyptian Pays, and revolves around the Re-Life bonus round. It’s set on a 5 x 3 grid with 243 ways to win. The low value symbols are the runes and increase in value to symbols such as the helmet and Viking ship. The wild symbol is the Viking himself and this substitutes any other symbol except for the gold bonus coin.
The design isn’t overly complicated and the graphics are clear and precise.
Gameplay and features
If you land 3 or more bonus symbols you’ll trigger the Re-Life spins bonus. In this round you’ll have 3 gold coins which are your lives and the amount of scatters you landed, signify the multiplier you’ll get. You’ll need 3 scatters for x2, four scatters for x5 and you’ll get x5 multipliers with 5 scatters.
In the Re-Life round if you spin and don’t win you’ll lose a life each time, but if you do win, you’ll get your lives back again. Each time you win you also step up the ladder and increase the multiplier all the way to a maximum of x50.
You can also trigger the saves spins feature when you only have 1 life left. At this point, a wild appears on the third reel and changes to 81 paylines, giving you the chance to land one last win!
There is also a Spin Chance feature which comes into play when your credit is more than zero but less than your wager. You then get the option to use your remaining credit to try and win an extra spin with a full wager value.
Verdict
Viking Pays has some really interesting features which makes an exciting slot to play despite it being a rather basic game. The soundtrack is perfect for the theme and it has a maximum jackpot of £250,000
