Tomb of Dead Design
We’re deep within an ancient tomb with stone columns to the side and mounds of gold coins scattered around. The graphics are clear and crisp, but the main features are the 4 sets of reels, each on a 5×3 grid.
Each reel set has a purple background, allowing the symbols to stand out nicely. The symbols consist of 10 to A icons as the lower values, with a pharaoh, Anubis, the whereas bird and a male adventurer making up the premium symbols. The gold sarcophagus symbol is both the scatter and the wild.
Gameplay and Features
The scatter/wild is key to this game. 5 on a payline awards 500x your stake or 400x your stake for 5 that land in any position on the reels. However, just 3 triggers the bonus round. Here, a bonus reel will appear which spins to reveal your bonus. You’ll receive between 5 and 10 free spins and taken to a tomb where a random symbol is chosen to be the expanding symbol.
During the free spins round, you can play with between 1 and 4 reels. If the expanding symbol lands, it will increase in size to cover the reel, giving you a better chance of forming wins. If you didn’t get to play with all 4 reels, then if you land 3 scatters on a reel set, this will unlock another reel set.
Verdict
This is a solid game but there’s nothing new in terms of gameplay or design apart from the 4 reels sets which is a nice change. The main feature is the free spins and expanding symbols. The top prize is pretty impressive but do note that it’s capped at £250,000 which is a bit disappointing.
