We’re heading to the plains of North America and getting back to nature with Play N Go’s medium volatility slot, Thunder Screech. This 5×3 slot is playable on all devices from 10p to £100 per spin. The maximum payout is an impressive 5000x your stake and features in the game include symbol swaps, wilds, scatters, multipliers and free spins.
Thunder Screech Design
This is set in the idyllic and tranquil plains of America, with rolling hills, trees and mountains in the distance. The graphics and overall design is excellent and it certainly looks appealing.
The reels are set within a wooden frame with totem poles either side and various Native American paraphernalia attached.
The symbols are 10 to A royals which are made from planks of wood, along with an otter, a beaver, a fox, a skunk and a crow. These higher value symbols pay from 10x to 75x for 5 on a payline.
Gameplay and Features
The wild symbol is able to replace all others except the scatter, in order to form winning lines. A random call feature can activate at any time and adds between 5 and 9 random wilds to the reels.
Any wilds can be upgraded to thunder wilds when the strike feature is randomly triggered. Thunder wilds come with a x1 multiplier, are sticky and also retrigger respins. For each respin, the multiplier increases by x1 until they reach 3x, then they un-stick. Multiple thunder wilds on the reels at once, means the multipliers are added together up to a 9x maximum.
The free spins round is activated when you land a dream catcher scatter symbol on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels. Any wilds are upgraded to thunder wilds and on every free spin a thunder wild is guaranteed to win. This also triggers the strike feature where the multipliers come into play.
Verdict
Play N Go seem to have taken a more relaxed approach both in design and gameplay terms, especially compared to the ‘book of’ slots. But that’s not to say it’s not a great slot, as it really is. The top prize will attract players and also the slightly more unusual theme will appeal to those looking for something a little different.
