The Hand of Midas Design
This slot is based on the Greek Mythology story of King Midas, who wished everything he touched, turned to gold. A gift that soon became a curse. Visually, this is an impressive looking game with highly detailed graphics and lots happening to capture your attention.
The reels are set with the stone temple of Midas, with shafts of light streaming through, stone pillars with coins scattered in the background and a large gold hand to the right.
The symbols are bold and highly detailed, and consist of Greek style 10 to A royals, with treasure chests, a goblet of wine, baskets of fruit, a golden princess, Dionysus and King Midas making up the premium symbols.
Gameplay and Features
Wilds can replace all other symbols except the scatter to help you form wins, and when they land, a 1x, 2x or 3x multiplier is applied to the win. Multiple wilds see the multipliers added together and then applied to the total win.
Free spins are triggered by landing at least 3 scatters. 3 mini reels then appear to determine your free spin amount. If you land 3 scatters, you can receive between 9 and 27 free spins. 4 scatters deliver between 12 and 36 free spins and 5 scatters give you from 15 to 45 free spins.
When wilds land in this feature, they become sticky and the multiplier increases randomly by 1x, 2x or 3x. If you run out of free spins before landing a win, the feature is re-triggered, so you are guaranteed to receive either 10x, 20x or 30x your stake.
Verdict
Both the design and the gameplay in The Hand of Midas, are excellent and definitely worth checking out. The random wilds and increasing multipliers add to the excitement and the guaranteed wins in the free spins round will appeal to many.
