The Godfather is a 5-reel, 20 payline video slot based on the iconic 1972 film of the same name. Francis Ford Coppola’s powerful mob drama is brought to life with stunning clarity in this classy slot from Gamesys. It is stacked with themed features, regular payouts, and a nice jackpot, and is a visual treat of a game whether you are a fan of the original film, or a Godfather rookie.
Games
Game play commences on a 5×3 grid set in the Godfather’s office. Stacked with icons and realistic headshots that transport you directly into the Godfather’s world, the slot provides 2 reel-sets at varying stages of the game. Appealing to all pockets, The Godfather offers a simple choice of 10 stakes ranging from 0.25 up to 50 coins per spin, with a tidy jackpot of 1000 coins for the taking.
Design
This is an exceptionally attractive slot that on the base reels boasts realistic images of the main characters – Don Corleone, Luca Brassi, and Philip Tattaglia – along with cars, telephones, roses, guns, and sumptuous wine and food platters that reflect the excesses of the mob lifestyle. Game play progresses under the 3 tenets of mob law – Money, Respect, and Family, which form the basis of the Bonus Features.
Bonuses and Features
Standard Wild – Red Rose symbol, that substitutes for all symbols except other specials
Family Feature – triggered by the random appearance of the Godfather himself. Players are tasked with gathering the 3 character icons together for a cash reward
Respect Feature – takes the form of Horse Head Wilds on all 5 reels – avoid getting whacked in order to activate them and rack up some impressive wins – Wilds substitute for all but the Bonus symbols
Money Feature – Don Corleone can appear after a winning combo to make an offer you can’t refuse – accept your win with a defined Multiplier, or gamble on a mystery Multiplier that ranges from 2x to 10x
Wedding Cake Bonus – land 3 Wedding Cake symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 to trigger a Free Spins Bonus which activates the second reel-set themed around the wedding event. Unlimited Free Spins are enjoyed, with each winning spin raising you up one tier on the Wedding Cake with an increasing Multiplier, until the Cut the Cake features kicks in
