Playtech have been on fantastic form since losing the rights to the Marvel franchise last year. Instead of sulking about losing their most profitable franchise, Playtech have come back with a host of excellent slot games including the epic Age of the Gods series which has made a suitable replacement for the Marvel slots.
One of the newest releases from the popular software developer is Stars Awakening, a simple, pretty looking slot game set in space.
About the slot
A five reel, 20 payline slot playable from 20p a spin on all compatible desktop, mobile, and tablet devices, the graphics and animations are as colourful as they are attractive.
Planets and aliens make up the symbols here, spinning on reels with an outer space scene in the background.
Gameplay
The features here are surprisingly simple for a Playtech slot, and in a brave move for a video slot in the modern era, there is no free spins feature with Stars Awakening.
The Giant Spin feature makes up for that however, with 3×3 symbols (which can include wilds) appearing randomly in the base game to help with winning combinations.
It’s the Supernova Scatter feature that makes the big difference here though. After every win, you will be awarded a respin and one planet will transform into a scatter symbol. These respins will continue for as long as you keep landing winning combinations on the third respin, wins can keep on coming here, and when combined with the 3×3 symbols, will quickly make you forget about the lack of a free spins feature to speak of.
This is not the most complex, and arguably not the most exciting game that Playtech have released recently, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is an attractive and entertaining slot that offers many different ways to win.
