Design and theme

Neon symbols on a dark blue background with a relaxing soundtrack, you know the drill by now. This is a popular design concept and happens a lot with slots, Starmania is no different.

However this slot doesn’t have as much effect as others that follow the same idea. The symbols are nice enough, as is the music, but if you are looking for a tranquil experience there are better options, and if you are looking for excitement it is too boring for you.

An unfortunate execution of a theme, Starmania sits between two ideas and doesn’t do either of them particularly well.

Gameplay

As often with such games, big wins rest on stacked wilds and a free spins bonus feature. Although the bonus feature has a nice addition that can result in some serious winnings.

The bonus feature (three bonus symbols on the reels) unlocks ten free spins, but during the course of your spins you are given increasing amounts of stacked wilds, building up to 30 in total. With the ability to retrigger the feature during your free spins, there is a lot to gain if you are lucky.

With a maximum win of 4,600 times your stake, you can win a lot with this game, but that may not be enough to tempt you away from better known titles with very similar themes such as Starburst.

Overall

All in all, Starmania is a fairly badly thought out attempt to take advantage of a theme that other games have made popular and you will probably find similar games that you enjoy playing a lot more.
