Skulls Heap Design
The design is fairly simple with a purple background and very feint houses and buildings in the background with their lights on The reels are semi-transparent, and each grid is separated by a long bone. The graphics are decent and it’s a bold, bright design that grabs the eye.
The symbols are inspired by the Day of the Dead celebrations and include the regular 9 to A royals, along with a cactus, bottle of tequila, candles with flowers, a guitar and the day of the dead skull. The logo is the scatter and the heart is the wild.
Gameplay and Features
The action is set on a 6×4 grid which has 4096 betways. Just like with most games, the wild can substitute other symbols to form winning combinations. You need at least 3 matching symbols or wilds for form a win.
The scatter symbol triggers the free spins round and you’ll need at least 3 to land. 3 scatters give you 8 free spins, 4 gives you 15 free spins, 5 gives you 25 free spins and 6 gives you an impressive 100 free spins. During this round, any wilds that land also award a multiplier of up to 5x your stake.
Any more scatters that land during the free spins, can re-trigger the free spins round and potentially, you can have up to 100 additional free spins rounds.
Verdict
Skulls Heap mainly focuses on the free spins. Although the features are lacking, if you get the right combination of free spins and multipliers, it can make for a really exciting game.
