Alchemy Gaming have released a classic gem style slot, named Reel Gems Deluxe. This is a high variance slot where you can play from 20p to £100 a spin. The RTP is set at 96.36% and features include scatters, wilds, free spins and mega symbols.
Reel Gems Deluxe Design
Reel Gems Deluxe has a straightforward design which feels very familiar straight away. The gold-framed reels sit against a dark purple background and the graphics are simple, yet crisp and clear. If you like this simple style, then there’s nothing wrong with the design at all. It’s just not very inspiring.
The symbols consist of the J to A as the lower values along with various other coloured gemstones. The wild is the Reel Gems logo, which substitutes all other symbols and also pays out 100x your wager for 5 on a payline.
Gameplay and Features
At any time during the base game, the first 2 reels can become stacked with either coloured gems or the wild. Then on the rest of the reels the mega symbols come into play, each covering a 3 x 3 area.
To trigger the free spins round, you need at least 3 scatters to give you 5 free spins, 4 scatters gives you 7 free spins and 5 scatters gives you 10 free spins. These also come with multipliers worth either 10x, 40x or 200x. There is a symbol trial to the left which shows the values for you to increase through. If you land another scatter during this bonus round, you not only receive more free spins, but you move up a level to the higher value symbols.
Verdict
The design is simple but will appeal to lovers of this style, for sure. The bonus feature is really exciting and can increase your winnings very quickly. However, it can take a while for scatters to land to trigger this and the maximum win of 1000x your stake is on the low side for a high variance slot such as this.
