Parrot Bay Design
There’s quite a lot happening with this design. We’re set within a pirate ship with a dark wooden backdrop with a cannon, skulls and daggers. The unusual 6 x 10 reels take up the central screen and to the right is parchments with you win total and bet amount. There is your total balance displayed to the left, along with a free spins banner. Graphics are decent quality, but everything so far is very similar to numerous other pirate themed slots.
Symbols include J to A royals along with pirates, treasure chests, pistols, rum bottles and treasure maps.
Gameplay and Features
The cascading reels feature comes into play when you land wins. Any winning symbols are removed from the grid and new ones cascade down in the hope of forming more wins. If you land 5 wins in a row during the cascading wins, you’ll win a free spin.
During the free spins, a random symbol is chosen as a multiplier and can build up some nice wins.
There is a meter to the left which counts up the cannon symbols that land. When you fill the meter, this triggers the Cannon Minigame. You then get to fire cannons to reveal symbols and form more wins.
Verdict
This is a really solid design with simple gameplay and no complicated features. The graphics are nice but the lower maximum bet probably won’t appeal to high rollers and the 95.3% RTP is slightly below average. It’s not a bad slot by any means, but there’s so many with a similar theme, it doesn’t stand out from the crowd.
