Microgaming have been pretty hit and miss over recent years, releasing some truly excellent slots, and some frankly abysmal ones.
One of the newest releases from Microgaming, the fun and unique Oink Country Love, belongs firmly in the excellent column.
About the slot
Oink Country Love is incomparable in the slot world, there’s never been anything that comes close to the tone and theme of this game.
The storyline involves two hillbilly pigs, one with a banjo and the other playing a fiddle, who are vying for the attention of Miss Southern Charm, a pig so glamourous that you briefly forget how odd it is to describe a pig as glamorous.
The main characters are joined on the reels by other cartoonish caricatures of farmyard animals, along with a few filler symbols playing the part of the lower values.
The reels spin on a carved piece of wood, with a farmyard in the background, bringing the theme to life beautifully.
Gameplay
The two musical pig suitors play the part of wild symbols, and will substitute (independently or in combination) for all but the scatter symbol to create winning combinations.
Land three of the golden ticket scatter symbols on the first three reels, and you’ll trigger the free spins feature. Land three scatters anywhere else and you’ll earn scatter prizes, but no spins.
If you do activate the free spins feature, you’ll get five, 10, or 20 spins for three, four, or five scatter symbols.
However, if you land two scatter symbols on reels two or three, you’ll double your number of spins, land double scatters on both of those reels and you’ll quadruple it!
So, if the scatters fall your way, you could end up with an abundance of free spins, which can in turn lead to big wins.
