Mr Macau Design
Mr Macau has a glitzy, glamourous design featuring the main character, Mr Macau himself. There are all the bright lights you would expect on both the symbols, reels and background and the graphics and animations are nicely done. There is a jazzy soundtrack to add to the atmosphere and you can just about make out the hustle and bustle of crowds in the background.
Symbols are low value J to A, which are joined by double 8s, casino chips, dice, flaming 7s and Mr Macau himself. We also have a wild symbol and a triple 7 which is key to receiving free spins.
Gameplay and Features
Wilds can only land on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th reels and when they do, they stick in place for 2 more spins. These can substitute regular symbols to help you form wins.
If you spin but don’t land a win, the Mr Macau Wild Boost feature can randomly activate. Here, all the lights bordering the reels light up to indicate the feature is active and the chances of landing a sticky wild increase and therefore your chances of winning. You can receive 5 to 7 sticky wilds and the triple 7 can also land during this part of the game.
When the triple 7 symbol lands, it awards 10 free spins with sticky wilds. During the free spins, you can also land multipliers worth 1x to 3x to boost any winnings.
Verdict
If you’re a die hard Vegas fan, you’ll love the design of Mr Macau. Although there’s no complicated features and it’s a common theme, gameplay is engaging and the RTP is really attractive. We’re just not sure if it’s enough to make it a player favourite.
