Get ready for some old-fashioned fun with the June 2021 slot release from 1×2 Gaming called Medieval Mania. With an RTP of 96.08% and a betting range between 20p and £50 per spin, it features scatters, wilds, sticky wilds and free spins. It has been designed to play across all devices and has a medium to high variance. The aim of the game is to free the trapped princess from the tower in the castle and live happily ever after.
Medieval Mania Design
Medieval Mania has a real fairy tale quality to it. It is set in a forest with lush greenery and trees all around and a stunning medieval castle up on a hill in the distance. The cartoon style graphics are superb and the medieval soundtrack matches the theme perfectly.
The 5×3 reels are made up from the usual four card suits along with swords and shields, a knight’s helmet, a chalice, a knight, a princess and the king. There is also a wild symbol which is the castle, which can replace all regular symbols, and the shield is the scatter which triggers the free spins.
Gameplay and Features
Gameplay is simple, and by simple, we mean really simple. Other than the free spins, there are no other bonus features to speak of. Free spins are triggered when you land at least 3 scatters on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels and you’ll start with 5 free spins.
During the free spins round, any wilds on the reels or that land during the free spins, become sticky and remain in position to help you form winning combinations. Also, each time you land a wild, you receive another free spin.
Verdict
With such a great design, it would have been nice to have some additional features to enhance the gameplay. It will appeal to casual players and those who enjoy light-hearted slot designs, but the top prize of 1000x your stake is on the low side, especially for a medium to high variance slot.
