The Mayan theme remains popular and Stakelogic have released their action packe, high volatility slot, Mayan Rush. It has an RTP of 96.05% and you can spin the reels from 25p to £60 a go. It features a rsk/double up game, multipliers, changing reels and hold and respins.

Mayan Rush Design

There’s a very familiar feel to Mayan Rush, as it’s clearly taken inspiration from the Valley of the Gods slot. The reels are set against an ancient stone wall with vines growing up. There are two Mayan statues either side with a blue multiplier counter on one and red life counter on the other. The graphics are excellent and the symbols are highly detailed.

There are 6 lower value jewelled symbols, along with a male adventurer, a female adventurer and two Mayan people. These high value symbols pay from 10x to 20x your stake.

Gameplay and Features

Gameplay involves removing blocker symbols by landing wins. Each winning symbol removes a blocker and when you unblock 5 in sequence, you trigger the Rush Mode Respins.

The multiplier counter starts at 2x and increases by 1 each time the counter fills up. The life counter starts with 1 life and also increases by 1x when it’s full. If you have a non-winning spin, you’ll lose a life. The respins keep coming while ever you have lives.

You also have super stake option where you can double your stake. If you do, the Hold & Respins Cash Collect feature comes into play at random intervals.

During this feature, only coins or blanks land, and each coin resets the respins back to 3. The coins land and become sticky and you unblock a blank. Each coin has varying values and your winnings are then doubled. If you manage to fill the grid just with coins, your winnings are multiplied by 5x.

You can then gamble all your winnings by guessing the colour of a card. This will double or quadruple your winnings if you guess correctly, but you’ll lose the lot if you guess wrong.

Verdict

If you’ve played Valley of the Gods and enjoyed it, you’ll enjoy Mayan Rush. There’s plenty of action to hold your attention and some decent win with the multipliers and respins. It’s highly volatile though, so can be brutal.
