Mars Attacks is a movie that can undoubtedly be described as a cult classic by this point, which makes it something of a surprise that it has taken this long for the film to be brought to life in slot game form.
The wait is now over, however, as Blueprint Gaming have turned their hand to evolving the concept into the world of iGaming.
About the slot
This five reel, 25 payline slot that is playable from 25p to £25 on all compatible desktop, mobile, and tablet devices takes you to a watch post in space that monitors for new civilisations.
Symbols on the reels here include the aliens themselves, who are certainly similar enough to make it clear where the influence comes from, if the name wasn’t enough, but it’s also not immediately apparent whether this is actually an official use of the branding.
Regardless, the rest of the symbols are alien ships, as well as the traditional 10, J, Q, K, and A filler symbols paying the part of the lower values.
The logo is the Mars Attacks logo and will replace anything but the scatter to assist with winning combinations.
Gameplay
Three or more scatters will trigger the free spins feature here, offering nine, 12, or 24 spins (for three, four, and five scatter symbols respectively).
All wilds will become stacked and sticky here, so stacks of wilds will lock in place for the duration of the feature, so if you manage to pile up a few early, this can turn into some nice wins.
If you’re lucky, this could be a very profitable slot, but in terms of gameplay and design, it isn’t what many of us would’ve hoped from a Mars Attacks themed slot.
