Magic Merlin Megaways is brought to you by Storm Gaming, a UK based developer that have utilised the Megaways engine developed by Big Time Gaming. Magic Merlin is a 6 reel video slot with 2 to 7 rows, an average RTP of 95.71% and up to 117,649 ways to win. Wager from 20p to £100 per spin.
Magic Merlin Megaways Design
Take a magical trip back in time which harks to the legend of King Author, with this mystical slot game. It’s a really colourful game with superb graphics and all the mystical imagery you’d expect to see, such as candles, cauldrons, spell books, skulls and potion bottles setting the scene.
The highest paying symbol is Merlin himself paying 50x when you hit 6 on a line and the lowest paying symbols are the card suit symbols which pay out from 0.9x to 1.75x. Along with these are the Orb, Magic Wand, Scrolls and Green Elixir symbols.
Gameplay and features
Magic Merlin is packed full of special features and the Megaways engine expands the rows from 2 to 7 and gives you up to 117649 ways of winning.
The reaction feature is similar to cascading reels. Here, the new symbol appears at the top and the winning symbols disappear to make room for the cascading symbol. This keeps on going as long as you keep winning.
To trigger the free spins round, you need to land at least 4 Book of Spells scatter symbols. When this happens, you get 12 free spins to begin with and you also receive an extra 5 free spins for each scatter symbol you land above the minimum 4. You can also trigger the unlimited progressive multiplier during this round too which is a great feature!
Verdict
Although this isn’t a fixed jackpot or a traditional progressive slot, there are some big payouts available as you can win 50,000x your stake. Although this is capped at £250,000, it’s still a great top prize.
There are plenty of other video slots out there that are very similar to Magic Merlin, but with some brilliant features and huge jackpot, it still gets the thumbs up from us!
